Picking Out a Long Sleeve Dress: Which Sophisticated Style Is the Right One For Me?
The long sleeve dress is back! You might think you will look old-fashioned and drab when wearing one but with the right color, style and proper accessories, you might just pull off wearing them. But of course you need to choose the long sleeve dress that would fit your personality or else you really might just appear outdated.
If you really want to be unique but sophisticated and mysterious at the same time, then wearing a long sleeve dress might be the answer for you. While everyone else are bearing their skin, you can stand out and wear a long sleeve dress with flair and elegance. But how do you choose the right one?
A long sleeve dress is usually worn during winter and tends to have thicker sleeves. But if you want to wear one just to cover up your arms, choose a dress with a diaphanous sleeve. It would give you enough arm coverage and the sleeves are not thick. A big busted or broad-shouldered woman should choose a long sleeve dress with a bishop style sleeve or a bell-shaped one which is fuller at the bottom. It would draw the attention away from the upper area and bring it to the arms. A woman with a pear-shaped body would look good in a long sleeve dress with a sleeve style called leg-of-mutton to balance out the shoulders. This sleeve style has more details at the shoulders and would taper down as it goes to the bottom of the arm.
The color of the long sleeve dress would also matter, depending on the occasion. Choose one that would match your personality. But for formal events, a black or white long sleeve dress would be recommended. What would set you apart from the others would be the accessories you will use to accent the dress. Try some ornate necklaces, earrings and brooches but make sure to balance them out. You don’t want to appear like an old duchess, would you?
A long sleeve dress helps make you appear illusive and elegant or outdated and old-fashioned, depending on how you play along with the style, color and accessories.
